General Management Programme for Defence Officers

About The Programme
The General Management Program for Defence Officers has been introduced by the Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi, in partnership with the Directorate General of Resettlement, Ministry of Defence. This six- month business management course is designed to transition the unique skills and values of Indian Armed Forces officers into the corporate sector.
Participants' Profiles
Officers from the Indian Armed Forces are chosen for their adaptability, discipline, goal orientation, and motivation. With inherent qualities such as courage, integrity, resourcefulness, and innovativeness, they are exceptionally suited for leadership roles in fast-paced environments.

Duration & Structure
The GMP spans over six months, incorporating a rigorous 24-week academic curriculum. The program is structured around core management subjects, emphasizing a hands-on learning approach through case studies, classroom discussions, assignments, and integrated exercises.

Participants develop a deep understanding of strategic planning, resource management, risk management, and team leadership. Programme Structure
The FMS General Management Program for Defence Officers leverages extensive academic and industry experience of FMS to address the resettlement training needs of serving and retired defence officers nominated by Directorate General Resettlement, Ministry of Defence, Government of India.

The program adopts a participant-centered teaching approach and a rigorous curriculum, equipping students with requisite managerial knowledge and skills. The course is structured into four terms, comprehensively covering all components of a full-time MBA program.
