About Me:
Prof. Debadyuti Das, faculty in the area of Production & Operations Management at Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), University of Delhi, holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Management from IIT BHU, Masters in Industrial Engineering & Management from ISM, Dhanbad and Bachelors in Textile Technology from Calcutta University. He has a rich blend of experience in both industry and academics spanning over almost two and half decades. Prof. Das has gathered varied experience in industry in different capacities and in different areas including Production, Quality, Project, World Class Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering etc. He has undergone highly sought-after program on Global Colloquium on participant-centred learning at Harvard Business School, Boston, USA. In addition, Prof. Das underwent several other international programs including Case Teaching Workshop at Richard Ivey School of Business, London, Case Writing and Course Development Seminar organized by Harvard Business School and developing Case Studies in the field of Public Administration & Governance conducted by DARPG, Govt. of India and UNDP.

Prof. Das has popularized case method of teaching in Operations & Supply Chain Management course. Prof. Das has also made significant contribution in research in as diverse areas as Sustainable Supply Chain, Reverse Suply Chain, Sustainable Tourism, Performance Evaluation of Development Projects, Optimization of Power Procurement etc. This is reflected through publication in several peer-reviewed journals including Journal of Cleaner Production, Int. J. of Production Research, Int. J. of Project Management, Int. J. of Services & Operations Management, Int. J. of Logistics Systems & Management, Int. J. of Tourism Policy, Productivity, Industrial Engineering Journal etc. Some of his papers have been widely cited by the researchers.

Research interests:
His current research interests include sustainable supply chain management, reverse supply chain management, issues in reverse logistics in both traditional and e-commerce firms, carbon footprints in supply chain, environmental and supply chain issues in development projects, optimization of power procurement etc.

1. Designing a Framework of procurement of power by a Power Distribution Utility. 2. Reverse Logistics Network Design for an E-Commerce Firm. 3. The Impact of digitization on reverse logistics performance. 4. Efficient sourcing and distribution of water in a Metropolitan city.
